Poison dart frogs or poison arrow frogs are very colorful. They can be blue, yellow, orange, and red. These bright colors are a warning to other animals who might want to eat them. These bright colors announce to the animal world that they are poisonous – stay away!
Tree Frogs
Tree frogs are the most likely creature you will see in the rain forest. Frogs are active at night because the humidity is higher at night and it is easier for them to avoid predators that detect motion.
Glass Tree Frogs
Gracie, who is the main character in the first story, is a glass tree frog. Her family is only found in the tropics of Central and South America. Gracie has translucent skin on her belly that allows you to see her liver and intestines. In some species you can also see their beating heart. If you see this frog at night you will see a delicate lime green frog with black spots scattered throughout her body. Their best defense is to be still, very still.
